Samtrafiken links Sweden together

Samtrafiken’s mission is to make it easier and more appealing for Swedish travellers to choose public transport alternatives and thereby increase travel with the PTOs (Public Transport Operators)and PTAs (Public Transport Authorities) that own Samtrafiken. In the great majority of cases, this combines economic advantages for the individual traveller with the long-term sustainability of our common environment.

Samtrafiken:
• Links together trips by train, coach, bus, underground, tram and ferry from 50 different carriers in a closely knit traffic network

• Offers the opportunity for the easy exchange of information about different travel alternatives for customers via digital and printed products

• Enables intermodal travel on one and the same ticket – the Resplus ticket (throughticket in EU-terms), available through thousands of ticket sales outlets all over the country.

• Supplies carriers with systems and routines for helping Resplus travellers in case of traffic disruptions and for validation of Resplus tickets.

• Assumes responsibility for division of ticket revenues from Resplus sales to the participating carriers

Samtrafiken is jointly owned by 35 carriers: all 21 local PTAs, the trainoperators Arlanda Express, People Travel Group (Merresor and Flygbussarna Airport Coaches), SJ, Svenska Tågkompaniet, Tågab, Veolia Transport and Öresundståg, coachoperators BT Buss, Nettbuss Express, Swebus, Ybus and ferryoperators Destination Gotland and Waxholmsbolaget.
